This job provides marketing solutions and services to LexisNexis marketing programs that are making communities safer. Employees in this position will lead the tactical planning and development of marketing initiatives that span across federal, state and local government with a heavy focus on the public safety market. The Sr. Marketing Specialist will work closely with the public safety strategic marketing director to help differentiate the LexisNexis Risk Solutions brand and help drive business priorities forward (including demand generation and retention efforts). This role helps facilitate integrated marketing campaigns from start to finish, through assisting with digital campaigns (including social), supporting business expansion initiatives, developing promotional marketing materials, and managing major customer events including tradeshows, sponsorships and speaking opportunities for our subject-matter-experts. The ideal candidate will be a marketing professional with a strong desire to grow in industry knowledge with an ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of a matrix organization.
Define the development of marketing programs and plans; lead the initiative and execution of marketing programs.
Marketing Campaign Coordination: responsible for initiating, planning, executing, tracking, and measuring the success of marketing campaigns, including negotiating with other members of the marketing team, the sales team or other departments.
Implement and oversee program creation, including promotions, communications, distribution and production of literature, and sales tools as appropriate for targeted customer segments.
Measure and analyze marketing activities with appropriate tools, and communicate measurements and performance against the established criteria; define recommendations and present to department decision makers.
Communicate in a data-driven and metrics oriented environment, gathering data and creating standardized reports, focusing on accuracy, data curation, and showing the ROI of marketing activities.
Use oral and written communication skills to educate others on plans and results.
Work closely with Marketing department to ensure the most effective communication and marketing processes are used, in compliance with branding objectives.
Develop understanding and strengthen knowledge of best practices of the different disciplines within Marketing.
Obtain and provide information to others internally and externally.
Explain facts, practices and policies to others where there may be different views and/or past practices.
Simplify complex concepts and be able to articulate to others.
Convince others that may be skeptical or unwilling to accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
Influence others within the organization to come to agreement when parties may have little interest in cooperating or participating.
Actively partner with and provide recommendations regarding strategy and approach to clients on a regular basis.
Develop internal communication materials regarding communication policies, procedures or other internal business issues.
Network with key contacts within own and outside own area of expertise.
Analyze and interpret data, provide reports and conduct research, develop actionable recommendations.
Understand the business supported and make tactical, operational and strategic recommendations and decisions.
Set and implement personal and project objectives; implement department and company objectives.
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, including organizational objectives.
Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.

Bachelors degree in Marketing. (Bachelors degree or higher preferred)
5-7 years experience in a Marketing environment. Knowledge of Microsoft, Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet savvy. Intermediate to Advanced PowerPoint skills preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of, and communicate, new technology and marketing trends.
A take-charge self-motivated persona capable of leading initiatives in a fast paced environment with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times.
Ability to prioritize and deliver with high-impact results.
Negotiation experience in project management environment.
Digital marketing experience is a plus.
Knowledge of trigger-based nurturing campaigns in marketing automation systems like Eloqua preferred.
