The Director of Media & Analyst Relations develops and executes all external communication strategies, including media relations, public relations and corporate reputation in concert with the mission, business goals and core values of Risk Solutions to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for external communications strategies to extend the brand, up-level the brand story and mitigate issues management.

  • Develop and execute thought-leadership industry campaigns to position LexisNexis Risk Solutions competitively in the marketplace.

  • In partnership with business leaders, understand key drivers of each vertical market, reinforce the strengths of expertise for each vertical market to targeted press and analyst audiences, deal with varied media inquiries and proactively develop and execute integrated communications plans to elevate the brand.

  • Serve as a company spokesperson to the media

  • Develop and manage corporate reputation program to showcase thought-leadership targeted to top-tier national media, government influencers and other key stakeholders

  • Execute media strategies and community participation - through varying communications vehicles - to elevate the profile of the LexisNexis brand in the local markets where LN Risk Solutions has a presence.

  • Lead an analyst relations program including a briefing calendar and subscription budget for the business. As well as, proactive outreach including relationship development with key industry analysts that cover our businesses.

  • Develop key messaging/talking points for company executives and business leaders for media interviews and analyst briefings.

  • Develop and implement social media strategies related to proactive outreach and monitoring, including blogs, social networks and other online channels.

  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of a crisis communications plan

  • Enhance the level of external communications by working with individuals throughout the business in responding to public relations, branding and crisis issues that require attention at the business unit and corporate level.

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a standardized company PR Media Tool Kit - includes the identification of company spokespersons and the facilitation of media training.

  • Manage budgets and outside agencies, freelancers, vendors and other third parties.

  • Identify opportunities for business heads and company spokespersons to participate in industry and newsmaker events

  • Other business unit projects as requested.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree in business, marketing or a related field, masters preferred.

  • 12+ years professional experience in corporate, marketing,

  • communications or media relations.

  • Big picture thinker: leads with vision, sets direction and thinks for the future

  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated success developing and managing programs and relationships with senior management and cross-functional teams

  • Extensive leadership and managerial experience: strategic planning, budget development, people management, agency management, collaboration and conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in external communications working with media (TV, radio, print, Internet), industry analysts and social media.

  • Professionalism to deal with confidential and sensitive business questions and issues

  • Track-record of success in an environment where change is constant; fast paced and often with strict deadlines

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into consolidated, compelling messages

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a deadline driven environment

  • Experience utilizing a number of communication vehicles to deliver messages

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • History of collaborative, collegial working relationships, preferably in a matrix model

  • Results-focused approach, commitment to go the extra mile
