Summary:

As a Product Manager with Ravel and State Net (LexisNexis companies), you will work on leading products for legal analytics and legislative tracking. Ravel creates tools that help lawyers sift massive amounts of information using machine learning and data visualization. Ravel’s products are part of Lexis Advance, which is used by nearly every attorney in the United States. State Net is the country’s leading tool for tracking legislation and regulation, and is used by companies and associations to monitor, comply, and engage with government activity at the federal, state and local level.

As a Product Manager working across Ravel and State Net, you will own one or more product features and lead project execution. You will own product development plans and represent features with cross-functional teams. You will master a deep understanding of customers and markets. You will prioritize and communicate customer issues and also lead demos to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

· Customer Focus

o Interact frequently with customers and generate customer requirements.

o Anticipate customer needs and prioritize those for the organization.

o Analyze and interpret what is happening in the market, driven by the latest news/incidents, particularly competitive announcements and events.

o Predict short term market changes and implications on the product.

o Continuously aim to meet customer expectations without compromising the commercial viability of the product.

· Data-Driven Decision-Making & Analysis

o Actively gather data from multiple sources (customer, market analysis, sales and revenue, etc.) to drive solutions to business problems and issues of consequence to the company.

o Demonstrate the ability to make trade off decisions between potential product capabilities.

o Evaluate product hypotheses in a quantitative manner, including AB testing for interactive products.

o Effectively manage day-to-day issues and problems without intervention.

o Generate new ideas by analyzing product data for insights.

· Go to Market & Product Marketing Lifecycle

o Support the go to market strategy with good communication of customer requirements and timelines to stakeholders.

o Assist on launch plans through coordinated development with external customer facing teams such as marketing and sales.

o Answer sales and customer questions regarding feature function, pricing, packaging, value proposition and competition.

o Offer Train-the-Trainer sessions in support of operations for market rollout.

o Assist on collateral for sales demonstrations and customer events.

o Outline key milestones, outcomes and deliverables during go-to-market and product strategy planning.

· Product Delivery & Development Lifecycle

o Solve customer issues with product features that achieve business goals and metrics.

o Have a deep understanding of your feature area and develop prototypes.

o Participate in product discovery.

o Manage portions of the product lifecycle.

· Strategy & Commercial Acumen

o Determine strategic product vision and priorities for a feature area, and champion future product direction.

o Independently use information derived from competitive analysis to drive product direction and strategy.

o Understand, formulate and budget operating costs.

o Create product development plans including opportunity assessment and business case.

· Technical Skills

o Consider high-level technical approaches to use when prioritizing functionality.

o Proficient in various technologies to assist day-to-day tasks (Excel, Balsamiq, Tableau, Python, SQL, etc.)

o Have a firm grasp of data and technical architecture principles and best practices.

Experience and Education

· Preferred PM Experience: 4-6 years

· Critical Experiences:

o Recognized as full owner of a product or multiple features

o Identified, led and released changes or enhancements that improved customer in satisfaction and/or commercial impact.

o Demonstration of thorough product development knowledge, including the ability to develop related business cases, content and product plans.

o Successful participation in customer engagements.

o Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) or JD is preferred.
