Sr. Royalties Analyst

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver royalty and content analytics that supports the Global Content team and helps deliver bottom line results by improving insights into publisher commercials and empowering content planners by providing detailed insight into content usage and subsequent royalties.Reporting to the Director of Content Analytics, this position will represent the global businesses interests with deliverables being valued across all LexisNexis business units and territories. The role willprovide deep subject matter expertise on royalty process and data structures to optimise performance and maintain compliance with license agreements. The role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate royalty processing, royalty globalization and system integration project support, timely responses to third-party licensors and internal licensing and legal business partners

Specifically, the position will focus on the following.

Analytics and reporting

  • Build and sustain a robust knowledge of financial processes, metrics and dynamics across online content areas.

  • Maintain and improve monthly analytics, providing the business insight into key fluctuations with the ability to drill into systems to recognize drivers.

  • Contribute to building and automating reporting tools for the global content team focusing on needs and automation

  • Lead in the gathering and presentation of cost and royalty materials to support the content planning and licensing process.

  • Contribute to building and automating reporting tools for publishers focusing on improving transparency and building confidence in our business

  • Monthly reconciliations of royalties paid understanding gains and losses by publisher and business unit

  • Support the gathering and presentation of materials to support the content planning and licensing process.

  • Projects and Ad hoc requests as we seek to improve insights across the business

    Migration and improvements:

  • Seek to aid and strengthen forecasting of Costs in the financial planning cycles

  • Aid and strengthen the standardization of recording of Costs within the multiple Business units

  • Aid migration process by supporting impact analysis project and using analytics to monitor the migration process working as expected

  • Build and Maintain knowledge of data structures through the migration process and assist with predictive analysis.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as analytical support within Global content and beyond by developing strong internal and external networks including team member, royalty reporting peers and leaders in all organizations, to bring in relevant information to the business.

  • Proactively seek to improve the status quo and creatively think passed system/reporting constraints.

  • Work across the broader L&P business to resolve inquiries in a timely fashion.

  • Promote teamwork and a collaborative environment within the Global Content Team.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

+ 2-5 years of finance or accounting experience, or equivalent.

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.

  • Knowledge of financial and management accounting, process and systems.

  • Business skills: Knowledge of financial processes.

  • Technical skills: Excel (advanced level), PowerPoint, Hyperion, PeopleSoft, royalty systems.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Continuous improvement: ability to identify areas of opportunity in an established process and execute on improvements.

  • Competencies - personal drive, interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, drives change and continuous improvement, results oriented.

  • Experience achieving results in centralised function working through regular interactions by email, phone or video conference with appreciation of differences in culture, time zones and legal frameworks (preferred).

  • Experience working through significant change (preferred).

  • Financial skills: technical and analytical skills including trend, variance and process analysis

  • Accounting skills: accounting policies and standards for cost and management accounting techniques (preferred).

  • Either native speaker or fluent in English (written and spoken) Additional language a benefit

  • Proven ability to partner with cross regional teams in a Global/Matrix organization, working across cultures and manage/ collaborate with remote teams
