This position exists to understand and respond to the content and technology needs of targeted customer segments or other business opportunities and to develop tactical plans to serve these constituencies. Included in this position is the development of business cases, content, and technology product development plans.

Accountabilities

  1. Create and implement product vision, direction, and business plans, including product plans, product migration and evolution, and product life cycle and retirement.

  2. Develop conceptual and evolutionary product plans that meet measurable benchmarks of customer satisfaction and will exceed customer expectations for flexible and exciting functionality and user interface. This includes managing expense budget plans, developing business cases, identifying and assessing business opportunities and determining strategic fit conditioned by technical feasibility.

  3. Identify, develop, and manage contractual, technical, and consulting relationships with strategic partners and providers, including joint ventures and subsidiary relationships and projects.

  4. Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive and product research. Develop functional specifications for assigned product features to include effective product and user interface design, rapid prototyping, product validation testing, and usability testing, while ensuring that the product strategy is adhered to throughout the product life cycle.

  5. Develop and deliver materials to the appropriate marketing and sales organizations which convey the purpose and details of the product, definition of its user, benefits to the customer, customization capabilities, and competitive comparison.

  6. Manage the ongoing life cycle responsibilities for business products

  7. Determine appearance and function of new products.

  8. Creation of mockups or proofs of concept of new and existing products.

  9. Manage one or more small development teams so they can implement the products.

  10. Evaluate new functionality that should be applied to existing products.

  11. Monitor the release process and placement of new products or enhancements in a release.

  12. Understand the basics of how the products are designed, specially at the UI level.

Qualifications

  1. BA/BS minimum or a law degree (preferred). MBA or equivalent is a plus.

  2. In-depth knowledge of product development and evaluation processes. Courses or studies in product management is ideal.

  3. Experience with Agile

  4. Knowledge of UX/UI is a plus.

  5. Strong oral and written communications skills

  6. Solid understanding of financial responsibilities.
