Software Engineer II

SOFTWARE ENGINEER II (CREDTS)
The candidate chosen for this role will work alongside team members in an agile environment and apply technical, analytical and communication skills towards producing and maintaining high quality database-driven applications.
You will be working within the centralized repository for the state for all things crash report related. We are building a statewide crash reporting solution for the state of New Jersey that will allow agencies to electronically transmit crash reports to the statewide repository. This project will not only greatly improve the efficiency of completing and transmitting reports, but will also provide the state with more timely and accurate data used to analyze roadways in an effort to improve traffic safety.
You will be building a robust solution available via web, Windows, iOS, and Android using .NET and the Microsoft technology stack alongside ReactJS and NodeJS. For this role, we need someone driven and willing to work in a fast-paced environment that is eager to learn new technologies.
Experience (US only) and Education
1+ years of Software Engineering experience
BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
New development utilizing technologies MVC, C#, Linq, jQuery, and Entity Framework
Advanced knowledge of html and CSS a plus
Basic knowledge of applicable development languages including but not limited to: .NET, ReactJS, NodeJS, HTML/CSS, JQuery, and Windows
Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.
Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.
Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
Knowledge of test-driven development.
Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
Basic oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work with simple data models.
Experience in agile methods such as Scrum/XP, Test Driven Development, and Continuous Delivery.
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity
Complete simple bug fixes.
Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolve technical issues as necessary.
Keep abreast of new technology developments.
