Job Description:

The candidate chosen for this role is an integral part of the customer support team for LexisNexis Risk’s premier customers. This role serves as the primary point of contact for data requests for the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Crash Repository (GEARS).

The candidate for this role will be working within a SQL server database analyzing crash records for trends and anomalies. This role plays a critical part in assisting the Georgia Department of Transportation by providing the data needed to evaluate the state’s crash records for ways to help improve traffic safety.

The candidate chosen for this position will need to be driven and willing to work in a fast-paced environment and ready to take on skills that require critical thinking, as well as communication with direct contact of customers via Phone and E-mail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering/Computer Science preferred but not required); or equivalent experience required.

  • 2+ years’ experience in data management area with an analytical competencies

  • 2+ years’ experience working with relational databases

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL and Oracle

  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and processes

  • Knowledge of various data types and formats including, but not limited to: XML, flat files, delimited, etc.

  • Good research skills.

  • Proofreading skills to see how data and facts can be linked together to create more meaningful conclusions.

  • Strong math skills

  • Ability and desire to learn new processes, tools, and technologies.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Good oral and written communications skills.

Accountabilities:

  • Business support through general data analysis and research.

  • Use pre-designed queries to assess data for research purposes.

  • General content matter subject matter expert.

  • Investigate, track, and report general data issues.

  • Under guidance of senior level Data Analyst, successfully complete new data onboarding and/or production data management functions as assigned/required.

  • Conducts routine data review and verification and ensures corrections/clarifications are made in a timely manner.

  • Utilize various data workflow management and analysis tools.

  • Perform simple data problem solving within specific functional area or data type.

  • All other duties as assigned
