Sr Quality Test Analyst
Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States
Reed Tech, a LexisNexis Company (a subsidiary of RELX) has a Quality Assurance opening. This Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for leading or participating in testing of systems. This position works with management to enhance quality and process standards and to plan and execute effective and efficient test approaches to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and/or data. This position will usually have a diversified understanding of QA testing including different testing methodologies, legacy products, and new innovation/acquisition products.
Participate in initiatives to identify and implement tools and utilities that enhance testing capabilities and product quality. Resolve issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate.
Identify opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meet testing needs or other tools to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of testing. Innovate process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction. Research available tools and lead or participate in initiatives to identify and implement those that will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality.
Identify areas where it is an advantage to work with other teams to improve overall quality and, with peers or others, implement initiatives improving testing capability and efficiency.
Develop and execute testing for large or multiple diverse projects to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification.
Interact with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards.
Innovate process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance. Construct, execute, and document test plans and test cases/scripts including regression, integration, certification, and load testing as appropriate in a manner consistent with team standards. ?
Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate. Ensure that testing addresses requirements as agreed with other stakeholders. Identify areas where it is an advantage to work with other teams to improve overall quality and, with peers or others, implement initiatives improving testing capability and efficiency.
Maintain industry awareness by evaluating emerging trends/technology. Conduct project reviews, ensuring review criteria are defined, and implement procedures for ensuring quality control of project deliverables. Cooperate in the enhancement of the methodologies employed for test planning and execution, defect tracking, and metric and status reporting.
Maintain framework for record retention in order to support internal and external IT audits. Assist with process improvement and compliance to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality software products and services on a timely basis. Ensure results of root cause analysis are addressed.
5+ years’ experience in QA testing, Preferably most in Automation.
Experience in designing and building automation framework.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts.
Experience testing Web-Services and APIs (REST/SOAP)
Create and maintain efficient test scripts that interface with automation framework.
Mentor other Test Engineers to spread adoption of automation strategy and best practices throughout the team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Previous experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDE/T).
Proficient knowledge of Oracle database design and experience with SQL.
Understanding of XML and a history working with transaction processing systems.
