The Network Technician performs general duties related to routine user administration and the ongoing support and maintenance of computer systems and peripheral equipment.

Accountabilities:

  • Installs and maintains computer workstations, printers and networking equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls.

  • Coordinate and complete workstation moves; installations as well as PC and laptop replacements, i.e; office moves and/or for new hires.

  • Installs and maintains network cabling

  • Image and deploy standard work stations

  • Assists with software applications testing and deployment

  • Setup and support of users' corporate mobile devices

  • Initiates and completes work in accordance with the work order policy

  • Provides software and hardware support for end-users; updates ticketing system

  • Document all pertinent customer information necessary to resolve an issue; perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests

  • Prioritize and schedule problem resolution. Escalate issues when appropriate to other technicians, engineers or developers

  • Provide support of e-homeworker system

  • Maintains inventory of computers, networking equipment and maintenance logs

  • Researches new and existing technologies, techniques and best practices in support of product production as directed

  • Performs other job related duties as required

Qualifications:

  1. Thorough knowledge of PC workstation, troubleshooting and maintenance.

  2. Experience with administration of Microsoft Windows networks.

  3. Ability to build and deploy Windows based servers and services.

  4. Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, SMTP, SNMP.

  5. Experience with disk drive imaging software.

  6. Experience with installation and maintenance of network.

  7. Familiarity with office automation applications such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Access and Word.

  8. Ability to handle multiple priorities in an efficient manner.

  9. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  10. At least two years related experience.

  11. A+, MCSE, CCNA Certifications desired; present preparation for any of these certifications is acceptable.

  12. Candidate must be willing to work a reasonably flexible schedule.

  13. Ability to lift 70 pounds; stoop, bend and kneel, crouch and climb

  14. Technical school graduate or equivalent (ex. A+, MCP certification) a plus.

  15. Excellent customer service skills.

  16. Excellent organizational skills.
