Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States

Role Description:

The role of the Accounting Intern is to provide expertise for the Company’s technical and managerial accounting process across LexisNexis Legal & Professional and Risk divisions. As a member of the Global Financial Shared Services (GFSS) team based in Dayton, the role will be responsible for providing analytics support and investigation to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and monthly reporting of financial information. The position reports directly to the Director of US Accounting and has frequent interactions with the Global Reporting, Planning and Analysis (GRPA) team as well as reporting through our parent company RELX. There is a strong service oriented culture with focus on service to internal customers on time and to quality, to build and maintain the reputation of the GFSS.


§ Responsible for account reconciliation

§ Investigate account discrepancies

§ Assist with monthly closing period process

§ Assist w/ SOX testing (Accounting Controls Process )

§ Financial Reporting (July); help consolidate financial information for half-year review

§ Collaborate w/ GRPA team (Finance) to support financial analysis


  • Working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • Knowledge of financial and managerial accounting processes and systems, accounting policies and standards for revenue/cost and management accounting techniques (preferred)

  • Experience in an accounting or accounting support role and an understanding of the revenue or cost metrics and reporting working in a global organization (preferred)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Strong Analytical/Excel skills

  • Personal drive, interpersonal skills, drives change and continuous improvement, results oriented
