Software Engineer II


Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States


Automating functions to aid editorial in enriching content for lexis Advance application. Automation involves streamlining workflow processes, entity recognition and linking, using natural processing language and patterns / machine learning to markup content that provides some visual cues to facilitate editorial reviews as well troubleshooting and maintaining current systems and providing production support

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.

  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.

  • Trouble shoot and resolve technical issues as necessary.

  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

  • 1-2 years programming experience

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Dedicated and self-motivated

  • Strong analytical and problem solving / troubleshooting skills

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Unix and MS Windows

  • Intermediate understanding of SQL and relational databases

  • Experience with following programming languages –

  • Perl Scripting - Required

  • XPath – required

  • Regular Expressions – required

  • Object oriented technology – required

  • XHTML, XML, HTML – required

  • XSLT – would be a plus

  • SQL – required

  • JavaScript

  • JQuery

  • XQuery

  • Java – Required

  • Python – would be a plus

  • AWS – would be a plus

  • Machine Learning techniques / languages – would be a plus.
