Job Summary

The candidate chosen for this role will work with team members in a nimble environment and apply technical, analytical, communication, and time management skills to produce and maintain high quality web service, console app, and database solutions. You will be working in a high-volume Back Office development environment engaging with other Back Office, product, and operations teams to sustain a variety of applications that support account setup, maintenance, onboarding, and credentialing.

This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within the Back Office team in the development of cross-functional software products. The position should have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.

Experience (US Only) and Education

  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required


  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.

  • Effectively follow development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.

  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.

  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.

  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.

  • Complete bug fixes.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to work with complex data models.

  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages, including but not limited to SQL.

  • Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems, especially relational databases including MySQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle.

  • Proficiency in C# .NET required. Knowledge of other development languages is preferred (Java, JavaScript, HTML, etc.) as is knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.

  • Experience developing middleware services in .NET with one or more of: ASP.NET .ASMX XML Web-services, SOAP WCF web-services, HTTP API Services with ASP.NET Web API.

  • Experience developing .NET console apps is preferred.

  • Familiarity of industry best practices in development, especially for .NET.

  • Knowledge in using applicable toolsets (Visual Studio, Git, soapUI, Postman, etc.)

  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.

  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

  • Knowledge of test-driven development.

  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.

  • Good oral and written communications skills.
