Sr Business Analyst


Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States

The Sr Business Analyst work with internal business partners to develop Customer Test requirements for all new products in development for the Insurance business line and conduct requirement review sessions with Technology. Monitor progress and confirm Technology deliverable matches requirements. Review Customer Test documents and work flows for continuous improvement. Keep in the loop on Customer Test issues and, when needed, prepare executive summary.


  • Interacts regularly with customers to help translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Requirements analysis & management; systems/process design: Participates in defining business and user requirements and acts as a facilitator in defining complete technical requirements, ensuring that they are in line with Business Support strategies. Engages those who can help search for opportunities to innovate and improve upon systems and processes, working with technical leaders to define system strategies and evolution plans and jointly recommending technical strategy and direction to management. Helps to identifies gaps in performance regarding systems, the processes related to those systems, and the organizations that use those systems.

  • Business case development: Provides technical, architectural, and process input to the development of business cases as required for their functional area, focusing on integration with Business Support strategy.

  • Project planning and coordination: Develops or coordinates the development of project plans for phases 1 and 2. Helps establish a framework for phases 3 and 4, and monitors status across the development groups. Consults with Business Support's functional leadership on the development and implementation plans, helping to assure the effectiveness of overall project plans. Reviews project status, risks and issues and assures appropriate resolution and communication within Business Support and with the business units as needed.

  • Rollout and implementation: Provides input to the development of rollout and implementation plans as called upon, with the goal of ensuring that rollout and implementation plans are technically feasible and value-added. Monitors the measures of success and participates in reviews.

  • Resource Acquisition: Assesses the staffing and skills needed to complete projects and communicates the requirements internally, helping to negotiate with customer and Business Support functional leadership for those resources. Confirms estimates and delivery once resources are assigned.

  • Management Initiatives: Engages actively in one or more of the Business Support and Information Systems management initiatives, such as business modeling, planning and reporting, project management, project management, or release management.


  • Position requires a bachelor’s degree in MIS or equivalent experience.

  • Requires 5+ years consultative skills and business analysis skills.

  • Requires highly developed skills in technical analysis, systems design, project planning, and/or negotiation.

  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to function within ambiguity and help bring clarity to a situation.

  • Experience required in at least one of the following areas: business systems development, training design and development, change/communications management, process design, operational management, information management, or data quality management.
