BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Security Engineer III – Digital Identity

This role entails understanding complex technical issues and managing them within a fast-paced business environment. Maintaining all the software and hardware in relation to security. Documenting security certification. Identifying current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threats. Sourcing and implementing new security solutions to better protect the organization. Conducting proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies. Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions

The candidate is expected to respond to, and document, any security threats, resolve technical faults and allocate resources to deliver real solutions in a cost-effective way. They must also be proficient in:

  • anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering

  • risk assessment tools, technologies and methods

  • designing secure networks, systems and application architectures

  • Disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods

  • Planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures

  • System administration, supporting multiple platforms and applications

  • mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software

  • Endpoint security solutions, including file integrity monitoring and data loss prevention

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of IT security experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

  • Licensing/certification preferred (at least one of the following): CISSP, CISM, SANS, GIAC (or related), ethical hacking/penetration tester certification, and/or security risk assessment certification

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Handle the completion of security questionnaires and RFPs

  • Respond to general requests for information (RFI’s) relating to LexisNexis information security framework

  • Act as an internal SME and remain current on internal policies, procedures, and processes

  • Interact directly with customers and internal stakeholders to bring RFI’s through to resolution

  • Facilitate customer and third party on-site audits and reviews

  • Remain current on industry standards for information security within the industry

  • Advanced knowledge of Security Audit Process

  • Understand Risk assessment and risk treatment plans

  • Solid understanding of vulnerability assessment, threat analysis, and reporting.

  • Understanding and promotion of security policies.

  • Implementation of security programs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist compliance and promote security policies.

  • Take appropriate actions to safeguard company information assets against current and foreseen threats.

  • Experience working directly with customers at all levels essential

  • Communicate to affected stakeholders including departments within the organization.

  • Maintain program procedures including guidelines and flow diagrams to be implemented on an ongoing basis.

  • Communication and outreach: maintain communication with peers throughout the organization and security contacts including Business Units and subsidiary locations; disseminate information regarding security controls and newly identified risks.

  • Assess and measure security programs to ensure closed-loop operations.

  • Install or troubleshoot programs within web environments.

  • Remain current on industry standards for security in a technology environment.

  • 25% Travel. 1 week per month work will be at our San Jose, CA location.
